Community Yard Sale & Electronic Recycling

The Village of Brighton is sponsoring an electronic recycling day on Saturday, May 5, 2012, from 9 am to 2 pm, in the parking lot at the Municipal Building. Anything that has a battery or a power cord will be accepted. CJD e-cycling is taking care of hauling all of the old junk away.

Don’t forget the community-wide yard sale on the same day, beginning at 8 am. Contact Sharon Broyles at the Village Clerk’s Office (372-8860) to get your sale marked on the map.

As of Friday afternoon, November 11, the boil order for the Village of Brighton water department has been lifted.

Boil Order in effect beginning November 9, 2011

A boil order has been called for users of the Brighton Water Co. after a power outage took down pumps on Wednesday morning.

Officer manager Betty Roberts said the back-up generator did not kick in after the brief outage, which caused a pressure drop and a decision by water officials to call the boil order.

The outage was at the Godfrey pump station on Humbert Road, she said.

The boil order is in effect until further notice, Roberts said.
