The Betsey Ann Bell has long since lost its usefulness as a fire alarm but it will always be a symbol of our annual home-coming picnic. It was christened by Miss Neil Flanagan on August 18, 1905 and the first picnic was held on September 14, 1906. She also chose the colors red and gold and wrote a "Welcome Home" song to be sung to the tune of "Illinois". |
